The New Cross House will re-open it's freshly painted doors on Friday 16th September!
We've had the menders in to give the old girl a little bit of a spruce up so expect a new look interior, an expanded, updated back bar and a revamped menu.
We cant wait to see you again!
If the sun is out there is no better place to be in New Cross than our beer garden. The open barn is a great way to find a bit of shade from the rays.
In its newest incarnation, the New Cross House opened its doors in May 2011. Many bauked at the name change from the Goldsmiths Tavern which carried so much history. The cries were silenced when their gaze was directed to the large stone carving at the top of the building.
History has shown that the pub has been here for hundreds of years, and that the New Cross House donated its name to the area rather than the other way around.
When moving back to the old name, it also takes old pub values as its theme. Some of the only original features to have survived its many guises are the tiles at the front of the pub which have been recreated around the pub. Along with some other traditional features. We take pride in our Food and our drink which eskew the obvious run of the mill choices. Tinkle the ivories on the piano, or throw some arrows at the dartboard. Proper pub stuff.
